Superyacht Refit and Rebuild Yard

KRM Yacht is a superyacht refit and rebuild shipyard in the Eastern Mediterranean, based in Tuzla, Istanbul. Refit and rebuild is all we do. We work on yachts from 30 to 110 metres, and we run the whole period under one yard structure, through to redelivery. Owners, captains, owner's representatives and management companies bring us the larger periods, where technical scope, approvals, workshop flow and handover all have to hold together.

A Yard Built for Refit, Rebuild and Major Upgrade Work

KRM Yacht works on projects that have already moved beyond routine repair work. These periods usually involve mixed scope, deeper access, engineering review, survey exposure, supplier coordination, commissioning and close-out. The value sits in delivery control. Scope, approvals, workshop execution and handover stay with one team, in one yard.

Most projects come in as a superyacht refit period; where the change goes deeper (structural conversion, systems renewal) the route becomes a superyacht rebuild.

Recognised for Refit Delivery

In 2023, captains and crew voted KRM the Best Superyacht Refit Yard at the Superyacht Business Awards by ACREW. The scopes they bring us are the technically demanding ones, and most of them come back.

A More Controlled Yard Period

Once the yacht is ashore, delivery pressure sits in sequence, approvals, procurement, reporting and daily technical decisions. Those points need one team holding them, or the project starts splitting into parallel conversations.

The programme runs through engineering support, workshop planning, inspection follow-up and handover, from arrival to redelivery.

Where Our Yachts Come From

Most of the yachts we work on run a Mediterranean season. They finish in September or October around Monaco, Antibes, Palma, the Italian coast or the Greek islands, then need a yard period before the next season starts.

Yachts working Greece, the Adriatic or the Aegean are already close. From the western Mediterranean it is a delivery passage, usually planned as part of the lay-up move.

Yard periods here run mainly between October and April, and slots for that window fill over the summer. We build the winter programme through the spring, so tell us her dates as soon as the season plan is set and we will come back with what is still open. More on planning a European yard period: yacht refit in Europe.

Why KRM Yacht for Refit & Rebuild?

A larger yard period turns on two questions: who can lift her, and who holds the programme when scope moves.

A Core Team
Built for Refit & Rebuild

Our core team covers project management, engineering coordination, survey follow-up, workshop planning and site execution across superyacht refit and rebuild work.

Where a package needs a specialist we do not keep in house, that work is planned and supervised by the same core team.

Facility Depth for Larger Yard Periods

Facility capacity matters when the package carries multiple technical, structural and workshop disciplines at the same time. Yard space, lifting capacity, quayside access and workshop support all affect how the project is staged.

Being in Tuzla keeps suppliers, specialist services, survey activity and travel logistics close enough to the working day to matter on heavier periods.

900-ton

Travel lift, the largest in Türkiye,

40,000 m²

Hard-standing for
up to 50 yachts.

110 m

Maximum length alongside

3,500 m²

Workshops, with
800 m² of storage alongside.

Fourteen Trades in Our In-House Workshops

KRM carries the core workshop disciplines needed for serious refit and rebuild work under one yard route. Where specialist subcontractors are needed, they are brought into that route instead of creating a parallel workstream beside it.

The full list of in-house workshop services runs from paint and interior to metalwork, electrical and piping.

Attendance During the Yard Period

Crew, owner-side teams and surveyors attend as often as the programme needs. The yard is a short drive from hotels and serviced apartments and from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, so repeated survey, supplier and owner-side attendance is part of a normal working week here.

Discuss the Next Yard Period with KRM Yacht

If an upcoming refit, rebuild or upgrade period needs early scope review or project control, send us her details and the scope you have in mind. We will come back with the likely work packages, the approvals involved, and a working plan through to handover.
