Superyacht Refit and Rebuild Facilities

KRM Yacht is a superyacht refit and rebuild shipyard in the Eastern Mediterranean, based in Tuzla, Istanbul. Our yard sits in the Tuzla marine zone on the Anatolian side of the city, with a 900-ton travel lift, 40,000 m² of hard-standing and repair quays that take yachts to 110 metres. The lifts, the hard-standing, the covered paint enclosures and the workshops are all ours, and a yard period runs on them from arrival to redelivery. Refit and rebuild is all we do. The yard was set up around that one kind of work.

KRM Yacht is the first Turkish member of the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group, and as of 2026 still the only one. Our management systems are certified by LRQA to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. In 2023, captains and crew voted KRM the Best Superyacht Refit Yard at the Superyacht Business Awards by ACREW.

900 tons

Travel lift, the largest in Türkiye, takes yachts to 70 metres. Above that, the yard period runs afloat at the repair quays.

40,000 m²

Hard-standing that holds up to 50 yachts ashore.

110 m

Maximum length alongside. The repair quays take up to 15 superyachts.

3,500 m²

Workshops inside the yard, with a further 800 m² of storage.

A second 300-ton lift handles smaller yachts. Ashore, 40,000 m² of hard-standing holds up to 50 yachts. Alongside, the repair quays take up to 15 superyachts, to 110 metres, so a yacht beyond lift capacity still runs her yard period here, afloat. Yachts ashore and alongside run on yard shore power and fresh water, with waste connection and controlled access at the gate. Send us her LOA, beam, draught and lifting displacement, and we will confirm whether she comes ashore or works afloat before you commit to dates.

Painting Under Cover, in Controlled Temperature and Humidity

Full repaints run inside a covered, climate-controlled space. Our fixed halls take the work first, and we confirm the hall or the enclosure once we have her dimensions. When they are occupied, our team builds a temporary enclosure around the yacht on the hard, with temperature and humidity held inside the coating manufacturer's window for the system being applied.

We record inspection points through the work. Our team logs environmental readings before and during application and checks dry film thickness as the coats build, with inspection by FROSIO certified personnel. The coating record is available to the owner's side at handover, so the conditions under which each coat was applied can be checked afterwards.

3,500 m² of Workshops

Our workshops cover 3,500 m², with a further 800 m² of storage. The yard workshops sit alongside the hard-standing, so components move between the yacht and the bench without leaving site. The trades we keep in our own workshops are the ones that decide the schedule when several packages overlap in the same week. More than 300 marine professionals work across the yard and the workshops.

Interior Production Workshop

Interior work is produced in our own 2,000 m² workshop at Darıca. That space is counted within the 3,500 m² of workshops, not added to it. Panels, furniture and fitted joinery are machined on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC, veneered and finished on the bench, then delivered to the yacht for installation. Upholstery is made alongside the joinery, so a cabin or a saloon is not held up waiting on an outside supplier once the joinery is in place.

Location

Most yachts arrive between October and April, coming off the Mediterranean season. A winter yard period at Tuzla puts her back in the cruising grounds for spring, a short transit from the Aegean and the East Mediterranean.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Can you lift a 60 metre steel motor yacht?
It depends on her lifting displacement, not her length. Our 900-ton travel lift takes yachts to 70 metres, within a maximum beam of 14.5 metres and a maximum draught of 5.5 metres. A 60 metre steel motor yacht can be at or above the 900-ton limit once tanks, machinery and stores are counted, so we work from her lifting displacement rather than her LOA. Send us her LOA, beam, draught and lifting displacement, and we will confirm the lift before dates are agreed. Above lift capacity, the yard period runs afloat at the repair quays, which take vessels to 110 metres.
2Can a full repaint run through the winter?
Yes. Full repaints run under cover in controlled temperature and humidity, so the Istanbul winter does not sit on the critical path of a repaint. Our fixed halls take the work first, and when they are occupied our team builds a climate-controlled enclosure around the yacht on the hard.
3How many yachts can the yard hold at one time?
The hard-standing covers 40,000 m² and holds up to 50 yachts, and the repair quays take up to 15 superyachts alongside, to 110 metres. Capacity is never the reason a job waits.
4Is there space at the yard for our own surveyor or owner's representative?
Yes. Independent supervision is welcome. We can provide working space at the yard for a surveyor or an owner's representative, with access to the project records. A reporting routine is agreed with your side at the start of the period. Where your team prefers to run its own inspection regime, we plan the hold points around it.

Discuss the Next Yard Period with KRM Yacht

If an upcoming refit, rebuild or upgrade period needs early scope review or project control, send us her details and the scope you have in mind. We will come back with the likely work packages, the approvals involved, and a working plan through to handover.
