About KRM Yacht

Refit and Rebuild is All We Do

KRM is a refit and rebuild yard in Tuzla, Istanbul. We work on superyacht refits, rebuilds and major upgrade periods, mostly on yachts from 30 to 110 metres. Most come in for a scheduled yard period: a class survey, a repaint, a systems upgrade, or a full rebuild.

Yards get called in at different points. We get called when the job is past berth-side repair or a few separate subcontractors. The scope still needs nailing down, class and flag have to come in early, several trades run at the same time, and someone has to hold the programme together and answer for it at handover.

The people we work with are owners, captains, owner's representatives and management companies who want one yard to carry a big yard period from start to finish.

Over 16 years we have delivered more than 200 yachts. KRM works under LRQA-certified quality, environmental and safety systems, and we are the first and only Turkish member of the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group.

KRM was set up for refit and rebuild from day one. We didn't start as a general shipyard and add refit later, and that shows in how a project runs.

Every job starts with the vessel and a scope worked out package by package. We put the awkward items on the table early: class approvals, supplier lead times, where access is going to be tight, the order trades have to work in, and what it actually takes to close the job out. Sort those at the start and they don't become a stalled yard period in month four.

Built Around Yard Execution

Tuzla is one of Turkey's main marine production zones, so trades, materials, surveyors and suppliers stay close to the yacht while it's on the hard. On a long job, that closeness saves real time.

The yard is about 15 minutes from Sabiha Gökçen airport, with hotels nearby. Captains, surveyors and owners' teams can fly in, put in a day on board and fly out, even when attendance is needed week after week.

Inside the yard, one team holds project management, engineering, workshop production and any specialist subcontractors. The owner's side has one point of contact through approvals, fabrication, installation, commissioning and handover.

KRM won Best Superyacht Refit Yard at the 2023 Superyacht Business Awards.

Facility Depth for Larger Scopes

When a yacht comes in carrying structural, technical and interior work at once, the lift, the yard space and the quay decide how it gets staged.

Why KRM Yacht?

Refit and rebuild only

We work on refit, rebuild and major upgrades. That is the whole yard, and it is why owners' teams come back for the next job.

In-house services

In-house services all handled by our own teams, joiners, painters, engineers and fabricators who work on yachts day in, day out. When one trade finishes, the next can start.

Lift and space for big yachts

A 900-ton travel lift, the largest in Türkiye, 40,000 m² of hard-standing and quays to 120 metres. Room for the large, heavy jobs.

ICOMIA member, LRQA certified

The first and only Turkish member of the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group, and the only Turkish refit yard with all three LRQA certificates: ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

One manager, full visibility

One project manager owns your yard period from scope review to redelivery. Approvals, variations and costs run through them, and through View Your Yacht you can follow progress remotely, any time.

Budgets you can plan around

Honest numbers up front and tight control through the job. If a variation is coming, you hear about it before the work, not after.

Closed out at handover

Commissioning, testing, documentation and the snag list are part of the job. The yacht leaves finished, not with a list to chase for months.

A clean, dust-free yard

We sit away from the commercial shipbuilding and repair zone, so the yard stays clean. For paint and coating, that shows in the finish.

The Core Team
Behind Every Project

The core team is project managers, engineers, naval architects, survey-facing technical staff, technicians and craftsmen. Refit and rebuild is the only work they do.

When a job grows, we bring in specialist partners we have used for years. They already know how we report, how we sequence the work and the standard we hold them to, so they work to our schedule. The capacity stays under one reporting line.

Letter from the Director

"Good refit work comes down to skilled hands, honest budgeting and delivery on the date agreed."

KRM Yacht was established specifically for superyacht refit and rebuild. We did not come into this work through general shipyard activity and add refit later. The company was set up for complex yard periods that need technical depth, careful planning and direct accountability.

Owners, captains and management teams usually arrive with the same concerns: whether the scope will stay under control, whether decisions will be made quickly enough, and whether the final cost will still resemble the original plan by the time the yacht leaves the yard.

Our job is to reduce that uncertainty. We plan the work properly, track progress closely and keep the owner’s side informed throughout the project. Through View Your Yacht, clients can also follow progress remotely at any time.

The work itself ranges across machinery, structural repairs, paint, electrical and electronic systems, piping, cooling and air-conditioning, interiors and upholstery. Some disciplines are handled by our in-house teams. Others are supported by specialist partners we have worked with for years and whose standards we know well.

We have built KRM on straightforward principles: competent workmanship, clear reporting, disciplined budgets and delivery when promised. That is the standard we expect on every project.

Discuss the Next Yard Period with KRM Yacht

If an upcoming refit, rebuild or upgrade period needs early scope review, approval mapping or project control, we can start from the vessel, the likely package boundaries and the working route to handover.
